Love is a safe harbor
a refuge for the grieving
a shelter for the windworn
a steadfast tree in a storm.
Too often we think that love should be a whirlwind
of desires long unfulfilled
a reflecting pool
of our deepest
most secret wishes.
Love is more a steady beating
a slow but sure walk home
a light leading through fog and dark.
Do not get lost in dreams of not enough.
Listen instead for the familiar greeting
of another weary traveler returning home.

anything can be poetry if you're brave enough.

Slow burning fire is what comes to mind (and heart) for me. A love that lasts. No flares. No burns. Just enough heat to warm my soul. Forever & more. ❤️

I love that image! We don’t need the drama of flares and burns for it to be love. Just enough heat for the soul ❤️

p. s. I love your description of love Jenna. In your poem & your epilogue. It’s exactly my intention for both my clients & my students. A safe harbour for them to rest & revive their weary souls.

Thank you Dr Dinardo. It took a couple of lessons for me to learn that, but I know it now. It takes going through some tough challenges sometimes to come to these deeper truths 💞

Thanks for your feedback and sorry to reply so late. I love my blog but sometimes I get overwhelmed by life and just don’t check it. But your feedback means a lot, planning to check out your work 💞🌟
